Default 3 Shot bracketing 2.0EV?

I want to be able to do 2.0EV bracketing since I want to start playing with HDR. However, I only have the option to do 3 step bracketing with .7EV or .3EV in between each shot which is not enough. Is there a way to change that?

Thanks.

edit: Sorry, its my Sony Alpha A230 I'm trying to do this with.

Not for the A230. What you want requires a firmware update, and Sony hasn't come through yet.

Sony!!!!

Ok, thanks. I'll guess I'll just have to do the exposures manually.

I like the "yet" part

Sony did not do it for the a200/300/350, and it will not do it for the new a2xx/3xx.

If you are so inclined, you can go to the Sony Electronics Blog and add your name to the long list of Alpha users that want improved bracketing for their cameras. A word of caution, though. Every venue Sony has established where people have voiced their opinion on Sony Alpha products, Sony has soon closed down. I've participated in four such venues so far, three of which are gone. The last is the Blog, but they reorganized it, and it's harder to find prior posts for this topic, and harder to add your comments.

But good luck with it.

TCav, your link to Sony is directing us to "Silvercup...". I poked around and found
http://www.sonyelectronicscommunity....y/default.aspx

However, as you say, navigation is convoluted and I certainly wouldn't be returning to it frequently, and the deal-breaker:Backstage 101

As of April 1, 2010 Backstage 101 and Digital Darkroom is permanently closed.

Yeah. Backstage 101 was a useful site, with SOME excellent tutorials and on-line courses on a number of topics, along with photo galleries and an active discussion gorup in which I was a participant. They took it down before they had a replacement available.

The "See you on the other side." was a concession to some of the pop culture references made by some of the frequent posters about the transition. When I saw the scheduled end date for Backstage 101, I suggested that it was a hoax and referred to many of the more successful "April Fools Day" stories of the past. (It turns out I was mistaken about it being a hoax.) There were also several posts that contained references to Douglas Adams' Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, and especially to 'Infinite Improbablility'. It's a shame that all those great posts are now in the bit bucket. (See? I can get links right once in a while.)

I've added my name to the list to be notified when the replacement is on-line, but I haven't heard anything thusfar.
