Default Flash Help!

I posted this question in a different section of this board but I want to be sure I get the help I need. Tomorrow will be my 2nd grandaughter's actual birth day. I want to be sure I capture the best pix possible. Should I leave the white balance set to auto inside the hospital room? I would imagine they have floresent bulbs. Any other photo tips will be appreciated. I have a Sony Alpha 200 with the kit 18-70 lens.

I've been where you are going, with similar equipment. Sony A300 and the kit lens, 18-70. Had the camera about a week. WB was set to auto, and for the newborn shots, I could not use flash (nurses orders). Here's a link to my thread, Oct 22, 2008. http://forums.steves-digicams.com/me...ddaughter.html

Are you using the onboard or external flash?

On board flash. Nurse didn't order me to not use the flash and I got some great pics of my new grandaughter being held by my 1st one.

Great. Please make sure to share some of them if you get a chance.
