Default Equipment Critique

I would like to know how this combination stacks up as regarding performance. This image is a 100% crop. Sony A200, ISO1600, shutter priority @1/2000. Lens used: Minolta 100-300mm APO at 300mm setting.

No post processing was employed other than cropping.

I think that's an excellent shot. The only flaw I see is the purple fringing on the white cable as it passes in front of the brown insulators, and a little bit of CA in the bokeh in the upper rigth corner. There's maybe a little noise in the wooden utility pole, but the insulators are all quite sharp, as is the cable and the threads on the bolts (the one on the utility pole and the other on the mounting plate for the insulators.)

Where did you crop this from? ... the center? ... one of the corners?

That 100-300 APO is a very nice lens.

Here's the original frame. Resized. I forgot to state that this image was made hand-held.
