Default White balance card question.

I was talking to a friend who has actually taken a photo class and we were comparing pictures when he noticed that some of my pictures were too warm. he then mentioned the EXPODISC that he uses and showed me the results and i like the results...probably should have been a tad warmer in my opinion, but very good none the less. I was researching the expodisc and they are a bit pricey but one site mentioned that another product may be better. My question is which wb card do you all use? Or if there is a site with a comparison of different wb cards can someone please point me to it.

I use the whitest piece of paper available or the whitest wall, shirt etc.
Shoot raw and make small adjustments until you like it.

I use an 18% gray lens cleaning cloth (like this one.) I can use it to set a custom white balance, and clean lenses as well.

Thanks for the replies! So I take it an official "wb card" is not needed?

Not as long as there are suitable substitutes. There are lots of people that still use the plastic lids from Pringles cans, but Pringles stopped using the white ones.
