Default First date with A550

I recently picked up a A550 for my wife. The package came with a Tamron 17-50, SAM 55-200 and the 42 flash. Were finding that for the wife it's the perfect DSLR in that she just wants to use it for a point and shoot.

We took her camera along with my A700 the Rokinon 8mm fish eye, Tamron 17-50 and the Sony 70-400 on a evening outing to take some shots.

We drove around LA harbor in San Perdo and got these shots. Contrary to what I've read You can use the "Rockfish" with the A550 as long as it's in "M" mode.

The first set is the oldest warehouse in the harbor. It's in really bad shape.

These are taken along the main channel just past Warehouse 1.
Both taken with the A550 and the 17-50.

As the sun was setting I tried to find a good location to include the Vincent Thomas bridge. There are so many containers, oil tanks and fenced off areas it was very challenging to find a good location to get this shot.

Next we drove to the other side of the bridge and ended up nearly underneath it to get this shot. This was taken with the A550 and a Rokinon (rockfish) 8mm fisheye.

That Tamron is a fun lens.
