Default Wide angle zoom

I have the sony a550 and now I'm pining to go wide. I have a Sigma 17-70 already. Looked at two: the Tamron 10-24 f3.5-4.5 which is from 2008 and the sigma 10-20 constant aperture f3.5. The sigma costs more but leaving that aside, any suggestions?

actually the non-constant aperture Sigma 10-20 4-5.6 is a better performer than both lenses and is cheaper as well. I would definitely look into that.

if you are willing to spend a little more the Tokina 11-16 2.8 is the best super wide zoom made right now.
