Default Is this lens better than the kit lens?

Well it's official. I'm buying a Sony a55. Now I was just going to use my kit lens from my old Alpha, but I'm wondering, if I include my kit lens with the Alpha I'm selling and buy this lens, would one of these lens have better image quality than the Sony kit lens?

Or Sony kit 18-55 kit lens

Which one would be the best?

Between those choices, I'd probably stick with the Sony 18-55mm.

Me too.

How did you narrow your selection to just those lenses?

If I were looking for a replacement fo rthe Sony 18-55 kit lens, I'd pick any of these before I picked the ones you listted:

Ok. I think I'll just stick with the kit lens then. Yea, I picked those lens because they were the same price as the kit lens. I want to spend no more than ~ $950 or so, and I'm buying a Sony a55 so I don't have much money to play with, so the kit lens will be fine for now I guess.
