If you're replacing a damaged/lost eye cup, maybe you should consider the magnifier FDA-ME1AM . i find the 550 viewfinder way too recessed for me (a glasses wearer) so I'm thinking about this. not just for the magnification. but for ease of relief.

I bought the FDA-ME1AM to go with my A550 as I had the same issue Frank mentioned.

If you wear glasses it depends on your prescription as eye relief will vary. I have quite a bit of prism in my lenses to correct astigmatism and for me the magnifier made things worse.

I am a fan of Sony and for the most part have liked their products but this one was thrown together like an after thought. The magnifier does extend back farther than the standard eye cup but not far enough to get my nose off of the LCD.

Your mileage may vary, obviously, but for me this one did not provide any benefit. I do better with the A550 viewfinder by using TCav's trick of viewing with my opposite eye (left as opposed to my normally dominate right eye). I think it has to do with the angle I am viewing through the glasses lens.

You can try the one I have before you spend any money.

With postage both ways you could probably buy one.

I'll just stop in and try it out before purchasing. I have plenty of useless things already. Probably shouldn't buy any more. Thanks for the offer.
