If you're going to use bounce flash, then the other gear you have might work ok, though an upgrade from the Sigma 18-125 wouldn't be a terrrible idea.

Went amazing!!! I went ahead with an alpha a77 and a 50mm 1.7, since the 1.7 was much less than the 1.4. I figured I can always upgrade my lens later when I have more money in the budget again. I definitely needed the upgrade in camera body, no question there, and the lens. I was at 1.7 a majority of the time, and maxed out the ISO a lot as well at 16000 (though obviously lower whenever possible). The 3200 iso on my 350 was in no way adequate for the situation!!! So glad I opted for the 77!

Thanks much for all of the help and input. I will be meeting with the family soon to go through photos for sign off. Once I have the OK I will be glad to share some of the images if you're interested to see how they turned out. :-)

Here's a couple from the first one. I did another last week, but cannot share any from that since I haven't gone through them with the family. Anyhow... I was pretty pleased with the results, especially it being the first time. I am looking forward to continuing to do this!!!

Thanks for all of your help once again. I was so overwhelmed with the decision of upgrading. I feel like I just didn't want to upgrade unless it was absolutely necessary (which it obviously was), and I needed to know for sure that it wasn't... well, me!
