My dad has an old MF 400mm f6.3 lens (yes, I know very slow) that he used on his SRT 101, and some other MF minolta camera. I was just wondering if it would work on the 7D (it would then be a 600mm). I love big tele shots, and even though the lens is a f6.3 high ISO and anti shake would help.
BUT back to the topic, will the 7D take it? Or does it only accept newer AF maxxum mount lenses?
My dad also has lots of other minolta MF lenses (from 28mm to 200mm) and I was wonderering if those would work too.
Sorry for the questions. . .I was just wondering
Thanks:lol:

Will the 7D take older manual focus lenses?

The old SRT-101 used a different lens mount than the newer Maxxum models.

You may be able to find an adapter to get them to physically mount. But, I don't know if they'd work on it or not.

there is an adapter but you would have to use the 7D in full manual mode possibly with an external light meter

i would get an x-700 film camera to take advantage of these older lenses
