I was reading some reviews concerning the AS system on the Maxxum 7D and all reviews mention that the AS system will work with almost all Minolta lenses. What about lenses made from other manufacturers like Tamron and Sigma who make lenses for the Minolta AF system? Will the AS system work on these lenses? For example the Sigma 18-125mm F3.5-5.6 DC lens.

It will work with any lens - the AS is in the camera! ;)

It might not be completely simple. Any lens designed for a full frame 35mm will work fine. Any Minolta lens specifically designed for DSLR will also work fine because the D7 is the only one they have.

But lenses designed for APS sized sensors with the mounts modified by the likes of Tamron and Sigma to fit the D7 might not work as well for the anti-shake. Evidently the anti-shake requires a little larger circle of illumination to work with and lenses designed for other APS sized sensors might not give full anti-shake. That was first pointed out by Canon and covered in a hardcopy issue of Popular Photography and Imaging magazine. I haven't seen any tests to confirm that though.
