Konica-Minolta has released new firmware for the Maxxum / Dynax 7D. Initial reports indicate a dramatic increase in write speed to the Memory Card, as well asother changes/enhancements:

Wow! I can't report on the other updates, but the write speed is more than 2x as fast! Initial test using Lexar 1GB 80x card with Write Acceleration shooting Raw plus Jpeg, Large, full buffer(9 frames):

Before update: Avg 1min 12secs

After update: Avg 32 secs

Not bad.... Hopefully that flash bug is fixed too, we'll see.

Thanks for the info. Awesome update!! The luminance( under/over exposed warning)is now available on instant playback!! Very Cool!! Writes much faster, too.

My local distributor just told me that a new release of firmware is coming out next week. This will be 1.10u and will further increase write performance on some cards and will also resolve some lingering flash problems...:-)

I did the update one week ago: just great!
No comment yet about all the features, I just noticed the new instant playback but: feature #1 is the CF write speed. I have a Sandisk Ultra II 2Gb and believe me, my 7D rocks with this firmware update! I can now even see the buffer count increasing in bursts !
Definitively: do it!

That US link doesn't seem to work.

I was able get there surfing the site. Here is the link.

My 7D already has the latest revision, so I'm good to go.

Now if they can only make a firmware update that will auto-rotate the image when I open it up on my PC!

Sorry for the new post to an OLD topic, but I just joined this site today.

Yuppie for me!

Sounds like a nice to havefeature, but I justrotate it on the camera after I take itand downloaditto my PC. When I forget, I just usesoftware and rotate it later.

I don't think we will be seeing any firmware updates but it would be nice if they collected a list of needfull things from us and did that.
