:? What do you think about an extended warranty for the 7D? Basically it seems about $200 bucks gets another 1-2 years of coverage. However, it only covers labor & defective parts that die no other damage.

Does anyone have experience with the Mack Extended Warranty sold on line through Mack Camera in NJ? I have heard a few horror stories about length of repair time, and a few saying it was ok.

Opinions / Thoughts /Comments ???

probably not, no.
However I had a DiMAGE 7Hi, and it got a broken DFX dial, when it was sent in to KM for repairs they said it would be $200 (Just for a little dial and a new side panal! [which was about 1"x1"]). I was glad then that I had the Mack warrenty. . .I just wasn't happy with the time it took.
Camera repairs add up fast.
On the other hand I had a DiMAGE S414, which developed a problem in the lens gearing (possibly from a very slight impact, but mostly from wear) when sent in to KM near the end of the 1 year warranty, they swapped the lens for no charge, and had the camera back within two weeks.
