I understand both of these are really good lenses, but have only seen reviews & comments when used with Nikon and Canon mounts.

I'm looking into buying a dSLR, and the KM's are really tempting with built in AntiShake..I think that combined with such a lense, it would even work pretty well for sports, etc?

Also, on the Nikon version, someone mentions it is necessary to chip the Tokina, to work with dSLR's. Is this a problem with either sigma or tokina for KM??

Just an FYI, no need to comment - I ended up buying it. Will take a few months until I can test, but according to people in the dpreview forum, it should work.

Which lens did you end up buying?
The Sigma 100-300 F4 is an excellent lens, and should work without problems.

Keep hearing about the Tokina's but you just can't find any Brick&Mortar's that carries them here. (and I won't buy anything I can't personally handle, and examine the unit I am getting :-) )

Sorry for the late response, I don't frequent this section too often anymore.

I ended up buying the Tokina used from KEH. Arrived fast, and the condition looks to be excellent. Haven't actually tested it yet though, as I'm still saving up for the camera
