Hi... this is only my second post on this forum. Again, I thought I'd ask this here because there seem to be a few more Minolta users on this site than any other I visit. I have a 7D and was just wondering... what some are some of your favorite lenses? It can be a lens youalready own or one that you hope to own in the future.

I've only had Maxxum 5 kit lenses to use on my 7D up until last week. I finally got a Minolta AF 85mm, f/1.4 G (D) lens that I absolutely love. It's suppose to beawesome for portraits although I've not actually tried it for a portrait yet. Already considering what my next purchase will be, so I thought I could use your input. I am interested in eventually owning a macro lens... a good wide angle... and a good zoom for sports shots... just don't know which I want next.:?

Thanks to all for the suggestions. I would like a good sports lens eventually too. I saw the 200mm, f/2.8, G lens... that's probably what I'll end up getting. I'd rather have the 70-200mm, f/2.8, G (D) SSM... but that one is a bit beyond my budget. Oh well... it doesn't hurt to dream.

Another oldie but goodie is the old 70-210MM f4, this is a first series lens similar in qualityto the 35-70mm f4 already mentioned. the only real disadvantage is that it a rather large lens.

Thanks to everyone for the replies. I can see I'm going to have a hard time deciding what to get next. I've been playing with some landscape shots and I'm becoming a bit addicted to it... so I think I see a good wide angle in my future too. Just too many wants and not enough bucks.

Most of the earlier replys addressed long lenses. Just got a Minolta 17-35 mm f 2.8 lens from B&H for about 500.00. Already had the 7D kit lens (35-100mm). This wide angle lens is sweet. Designed for the 7D, it has a nice heft to it and so far the results are excellent. Keep it in mind when you start looking for "wide."

Thanks for the info. I'm looking at the new Minolta 11-18mm DT lens. B&H has it for only $549... not like that is a CHEAP price, but as high as Minolta is, I was expecting it to be more. Not for sure what I'll go with yet.
