if you use PS for your cropping/editing select cropped resolution to 300 and you will be amazed at the possible crop !

KM elected to have 6 meg of SUPERB quality as opposed to 8-9 meg of good quality

do not confuse QUANTITY vs QUALITY

to double your resolution requires 4 TIMES the pixels

there is only a marginal difference between 6 and 8 meg in resolution !

If you want to call 15% marginal, OK. I'll take 15% any time, provided I don'tget more noise.

I always buy a new computer when a CPU of double speed is to a reasonable price. The same thing will do with my KM. I will wait a camera of 12 MPS for less than 2000 $.

Technophile;

Given the same size sensor, more pixels = more noise (which must be removed/reduced in camera with software, reducing image quality

I am getting acceptable 16x20 from mpix.com with the 7D
