Hi,

I have been a long time Canon and Nikon user and know almost nothing about Minolta products. I am in the process of switching from Canon DSLR to KM DSLR (just bought a 7D and awaiting delivery). I am planning out my lens buying strategy and have decided that for long lenses I don't neccesarily need AF.

My question is: Will Minolta MF lenses fit onto a 7D and will they function OK?

Any help would be appreciated as I plan on going to Camera Swap show this weekend and they usually have a large assortment of MF lenses at some really low prices.

Thanks,

John Randall

Nope, they won't work, which is a shame.

I don't know if there is an adapter availible anywhere or not.

If you pick one up, you should let us know how well it works, I'm definately interested.

I'm unlikely to buy one as I don't have any old manual lenses. Question for Bernabau though - whilts you ay they will NOT work, does that just mean that there won't be any coupling to the lens? Would it still function in completely manual mode?
Cheers Ian

the MC/MC lenses will not mount w/o the adapter

ps. the M42 lens is a (Praktica?) screw mount, not an MC/MD mount
