I am looking at getting this lens for sports/nature work. Any opinions on this lens? If you have it, can you post some 1:1 cropped results so that I can decide if it will do the job?!

I had one about four years ago that I used on my Canon A2. It's strictly a long-distance shooter and the filters were expensive. It wasn't the quickest to auto-focus and the pictures tended to be a bit soft. That being said..... I loved it. I used it for wildlife shots. I couldn't afford the fast fixed lenses and I really enjoyed the fact that I had a really good zoom range. I even used my Kenko 2x teleconverter with it and got several photos I couldn;t have even considered. You'll be shooting at a minimum ISO of 400 and most likely 800, otherwise you'll get too much camera shake, unless it is tripod mounted. Nowhere near the Sigma 70-200 f2.8 HSM that I had back then, but the bang for the buck is great.

You will have the benefit of AS to help with camera shake unlike the Canon
