My Dad just brought me a box with an old 35mm Minolta SRT102 and 6 different lenses that fit it. The camera is pretty banged up, but the lenses (Minolta's, Vivitar's and Kiron) look alright. If I invest in a new digital SLR, which bodies would these lenses fit?

Up till now I have been a Panasonic FZ5 fan, but this could put me into the SLR realm..

Thanks in advance for the help.

Unfortunately your old SRT lenses won't work with any of the current DSLRs. I happen to have an old SRT-102 myself, and it's in pretty good shape but its been quite a while since I've used it. If you had a somewhat later version of a Minolta SLR with AF, then you might have been able to use those - but not with the manual focus SRT lenses. Sorry...

Thanks for the reply. I sort of figured that with all the manual controls on the lenses that a digital would not be able to utilize them. Too bad, a few are fairly nice lenses, and almost new.

trooplewis,

there are adapters available to let you use them in full manual mode:

I have noticed these also. AND the fact that they're backordered for quite a while now. I've pretty much given up on them. New lenses are only money, right? Anyway, consider that you may want different fl's anyway, due to small sensor.

You might get a few bucks by selling the old stuff.
