Upgraded from a point and shoot camera to the Maxxum 5D body only. I am coming from an oly c8080 and was worried 6.1 vs. 8 mp. After I saw the pics those worries went away. I purchased some cheap glass at first to get me started. I went with the Tamron 28-80mm f/3.5-5.6 and 70-300mm f/4.0-5.6 LD Two Lens Kit for Minolta Maxxum.

This is my first dslr and I am really worried about dust and proper cleaning outside of that its sitting at home with many hours to go before I get off work.

enjoy the new toy

it's pretty tough and very reliable

ccd dust is only a very minor issue regardless of what you may hear to the contrary

(do some homework about cleaning - start with the user's manual)
