Hi to all the Erudites KD, DSLR owners & happy Users!

Adding to my earlier post, concerning the I own a Dynax 5D kit, I check all my other 5 lenses from my lovely Maxxum 9xi film body, & found ONLY 5 gold plated contacts instead 8 that my newer 5D has.

Can any of you inform me what really will happen, or I'm missing for have all my lenses only 5 gold plated contacts...instead 8 that have my camera body?

Will perform as intended or I WILL MUST to exchanged my lenses...looking for newer ones with 8 contacts?

If..I will need to do so...all the "DEAL"...using my existing lenses, to archive all the "Body" features...will be very...very...expensive!

Any input will be uttermost usefully & heart fully gratifying!

Thanks so much...;

Greetings.

the 'd' lenses will have 8 contacts

this is for adi flash feature (lens sends focus distance info to camera)

if you hadn't looked closely you never would have known from using the gear

all other operation is the same - DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT

Hi,
could be, your sigma 70/300 needs a chip-update - if manufactured before 2001 (updates are availabel for 70-300 APO Macro Super and DL Macro Super). Possibly check with [email protected].

Hi Helmut!

Yes you are right 100%...I received from US during 1995!

I will write to Sigma in Japan & US...!. Depends from which site I will receive a response, to receive their advice what to do...as sending from Israel to Japan or US + price for such update...maybe is more that buying here a new lens!

OK...Helmut I will check this matter!

Thank you very much for your cute advice!

Have a nice & productive 2006 year!

Regards,
