You're gonna be happy with it- it's a great camera! Very good bang for the buck!

If you're going to buy in Feb. wait and see what happens in the next few weeks. Maybe some good news and maybe cheaper prices for you.

I would agree with Nooner and wait for PMA, even if the 5D is just rebadged Sony, in a couple of years you will still be able to ebay it for a reasonable price where the name KM will almost be forgotten and will be a lot more difficult to unload.

On the other hand- available Minolta units may sell out and become harder to find. I suggest if anyone is interested, they buy a unit now as they are available- supplies may dwindle in the next month or so- and may not be replenished as per their announcement. Even if Sony takes over the body and rebading- I'm sure it'll all take awhile. The 5D is attractively priced and waiting for it to become even lower is a gamble.....just my .02 cents.(And we know since Sony considers themselves to be of better quality than the rest- I doubt the camera will be bargain priced when re-introduced as a Sony item)<Sony products are usually higher priced in their respective catagories- just check their TV prices, DVD players, digital cameras etc--- even if they aren't the highest spec units in their class.>

stevenyc1, you could be right about prices not going down. B&H just raised their price on the 5D.
