Hello!

In the 5D is it possible the change the focusing screen?
after i used google i find out i might need a slit-image screen.
i didn't find any type of focusing-screens in the listed accessories at the officional 5d site (however Steve's review said this accessory is available)

changing the focusing screen should result much more accurate (and esasier) using of the manual focusing? Or it has another purpose?

Do anybody have any idea (or better if experiance where i find these?

I haven't looked into it. But, I remember reading some posts a while back where KM told someone they didn't recommend some of the optional focus screens because of viewfinder brightness concerns.

But, I also remembering some posts from 7D owners that did get different focusing screens.

Let us know if you find out what's available for the 5D.

I don't think they're available for the 5D only the 7D.

I haven't turned up any for the 5D from searches. I was hoping that some 3rd party screens might be available.

The Hoada guy says that he does make the screen for the 5d. Has anyone tried it yet on the 5d? They are supposed to work good on the Canon cameras and the 7d. I would like to get one for my 5d but want to hear from someone who has tried it.

No references to anyone installing it on the 5D in dpreview.

It looks like a 5D owner got one and posted a review over at Dyxum recently. But, it looks like the screen has an alignment issue:
