Those KM 28-75 F2.8 lens look really good...I have 18-70 kit lens and Tamron 28-300 XR lens on my KM 5D. I would like to have also some low light F2.8 lens so I was looking for a while at some deals. Now I have to decide betweenKM 28-75 F2.8or Sigma 24-70mm F2.8 EX DG.

There is a good price on those Sigma from Cameta:

B&H link (more expensive): http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/cont...goryNavigation

What do you think guys.

This comparison by fstopjojo (using the Tamron branded version of the 28-75mm) may give you an idea. Note that the Sigma is larger and heavier.

Personally, I think I'll stick to the Minolta 24-85mm f/3.5-4.5, even though I've considered the 28-75mm f/2.8 from time to time.

The 24-85mmhas got better focal range than either one of them, has good contrast, color and sharpness (even wide open), and it's smaller and lighter than either one of the f/2.8 zooms. Yea, so I lose a stop on average. But, it's also cheaper and I've already got one. ;-)

I put a bid on it for $250. they Buy It Now Option was no longer available. If I get it for that, I take it. Otherwise I'll get it new.
Good luck, you might get it. I have got to stop buying lenses.... it's getting to be too much. I do need one more to complete my collection. I need something decent but too expensive in a wide angle. I've looked at the 19-35mm Tamron that is sold under nemerous names, some say it is made byTokina and I can get one new for under 100 dollars. I can get the 18-70 kit lens for about 78 new and I'm also looking at the 20-40 Tamron for about 175. There seem to be drawbacks to all and I am having trouble deciding.

BTW..... I just picked up a 200-400mm Tamron F5.6 used. This thing is built like a sawed-off bazooka. If I can the moon tonight, I'll try it out. I'm hoping to get a picture of the flag that the astronauts left there or maybe Neil Armstrong's footprints, but I'm not sure if I will be able to do so if thatwas that on the other side of the moon.

OK... my 70-210 F4 arrived in good shape. I tested it on my Maxxum 7000 just to see if it works instead of changing lenses back and forth on the KM. I knew that camera would serve as more than a dooorstop when I bought it with a lens on EBay awhile back. I also tested the functionality of my newly aquired 200-400 F5.6 Tamron.... you have to see the size of this thing! I may nickname it the"Canon"seems appropriate sitting next to the "Beercan". You think Canon might object?

I'm think of going for the 20-40mm Tamron and that may put an end to my lens madness for awhile. So farI am up to 6 lenses at about 7 hundred dollars. I'm only counting the 28-75mm F2.8 D as 50 dollars because that's hpw much extra I paid for it as a kit.

When I bought my 28-75 I had already purchased a 28 f2.8 primethat took forever to gethere from Florida. I've read that the 28 2.8 prime is an OK lens but Im not sure if it's worth keeping having a 28-75 f2.8. Anyone compared the two?

NiCE Pic Tango! i LOVE your child's expression in that too, btw!

i can't wait to get mine after seeing that! It looks like that lens might not be a bad concert lens either. Next Saturday i am takiing some pics of a local band, and i am going to try the lens out! If the pics turn out well, i will post some here...
