Well, I decide to the Metz 54 flash instead of the 5600. Since my in-laws are going to Germany in the next couple of weeks, I think I'll giving them the money and pick one up for me. It's hard finding one here in the US. Anybody know of a good store in Munich or Berlin area to pick a Metz 54?

Thanks
B and H sells the Metz

if you have this flash or lets say the 5600, would you still get the 3600 @ around USD200??

Will appreciate your comments/inputs. Thanks

Here my problem with the Sony/Minolta flashes, since they have pre flashes and most my family members have lazy eyes. I could keep the flash in manual to prevent lazy eye, but defeats the purpose of having an expensive flash. That the main reason for choosing the Metz 54.

Isn't the Metz 54 just as expensive as the Sony?

Yes it is, but has cool anti lazy eye feature, since it doesn't do preflash to meter. The one drawback to the Metz can't you do HSS. Also it has auto mode which the 5600 does not have on a 7D.

The preflash bothers me in wireless mode. Is there a way we can avoid it?

Also I'm curious: what happens if the in built flash breaks. How will we use wireless then?

I think you get flash cords for the flashes.

I think this is the one http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/cont...ughType=search

It says Maxxum, though it doesn't specify which Maxxum.

They seem to have gone up a bit. Probably in response to the Sony price.
