Ouch.

I can remember passing on one I saw at a good price a year or so ago when I started shopping for Minolta AF lenses. If memory serves, the main reason I passed on it was it's minimum focusing distance.

Heck, I took the time to prepare matrixes of lenses I was interested in, looking at size, weight, focal range, focus distance, etc., before deciding what I thought would work better for my limited needs.

In hindsight (since my finances were in a little bit better shape then), I should have bought everything I could find in Minolta AF mount. Some of these lenses would have made a pretty good investment. :-)

Congrats. It's probably a super lens.

I have a confession. I said I wouldn't buy any more lenses until Jim bought a 28-300, but I decided the Vivitar 70-210 was close enough for the girls he runs with, and bought what appears to be a mint 70-210 f4 on eBay for $174.95 with a filter thrown in. :-)

I'm trying to do my part to help out your budget (I have not bought a Tamron 28-300mm yet). lol

The Vivitar I ordered came in on Monday. But, I haven't even opened the box yet. I'll try to get to it soon.

Jim, I said lenses, not cameras!. BTW, the 28 f2.8 had sticky blades, and the dealer took it back and even paid my return shipping. I have spent a lot with hm, and this is the first bad lens I have gotten. He actually overpaid my return shipping, and wouldn't let me refund him the overage.

Someone on Dyxum Forum scored a 70-210 for less than 90 dollars from B&H. From the pictures it looked almost mint. He said he got it in their S&H department as soon as it was posted.I can't figure what S&H is and haven't bothered to look.

So how is that Vivitar????

Buy it. You know you want to. Its worth it, you won't regret it unless you have a girlfriend or wife and starving kids.
