My SRT-101 would have resented that remark!

I had one of those and itwas black and and silver. That was a great basic camera andI took some incredible shots with it. I ended up having to sell it in a pinch 17 years ago and eventually ended up with an XG-1, which I still have. I was never able to get as good results with that the XG-1, even in manual mode.Maybe it's not the XG-1 but the lenses I have that caused the pictures to be a little softer than the SRT-101.

I owned the SRT-101, XG-M and X-700. I sold the XG-M to a friend, and traded the X-700 in on my Maxxum 9000, but held on to the SRT until about 10 years ago, and traded it in on a Yashica Zoom P&S for my wife.

Further damage to this thread. I bought a 3600hs D for 173.00 dollars today. Sweetest deal possible. Thing is mint (with torn box) with fresh smell and all. I was heckling for 150 bucks but he wouldn't sell it, bastard. This salesman is located at 38th street and 8th avenue. The trick I discovered, is to remain in control, even if they act rude. If you don't buy, they can't sell you anything. Last time I went there he gave me a quote of $225. I went in again, and he said the same. So i began to walk out, and the price began to fall!!! 200, 180, 160!!! With tax it came to about 173. Still, a good deal.

if you got a ritz camera store near by, you may wanna check there... picked up the 3600hs D for 200... the price is a little higher, but still a sweet deal considering how hard these things are to find...

to throw this thread off even more, anybody else find changing the batteries in this flash kinda sketchy? feels like the battery cover will just crack off or something!
