Wal-Mart has dropped the price down to $599 for a Maxxum 7D with an 18-70mm kit lens while supplies last:

They also have a 3 year extended service plan available for $88.33

The best deal in DSLR's, now why would someone get an entry level camera when they can buy this high end kit for the same (or less in most cases)?

Oh my God! What a deal! The extended warranty from Mack is cheaperand you can even buy a 5year.

As a general rule, I don't buy extneded warranties, and I would not buy a MACK warranty. I've seen stories from usres about it taking months to try and get a camera fixed. Maybe it's onoy a small percentage and overall they're OK. But, I won't buy one.

I haven't read the details of the Wal-Mart Plan, but someone on another forum suggested that they would refund your money if a camera couldn't be fixed. So, in the case of a 7D, I'd probably consider one. I'd read the fine print to make sure that's really the case (I haven't looked at it), and see who the provider of the plan is and research them.

If I bought everything I wanted, we'd be in the poor house. Ooops... we already are in the poor house. :-)

WHOA! Well, thats a no-brainer. My order has been placed.

Edit: Jeez, I wish I could buy two. Or twenty-five. Best camera ever, out of production, and being offered for less than half price. If sony dosent step up real soon with a 7D replacement these could go for a fortune on ebay!

At this price and with Walmarts satisfaction or you can return it for up to a year guarantyI couldn't resist ordering itas a backup for the 7D I already have.

Hopefully they really had them in stock. I have my fingers crossed.:-)

I ordered one also. I'm not sure about the three year warranty but I called and I have 30 days to buy it. It might come in handy since they refund your purchase price if not repairable. Then again, if you deduct the expensiveof the warranty, the refund would only be a little over 400 dollars. Also, the rumour is that Sony will refund on a prorated basis after the factory warranty expires.

When anybody who has purchased this dealreceives notification that the camera has shipped or they actually receive one it would be nice if they could post the status here to verify they actually had stock.
