Harbor Cruise (NEX-6 & 16-50pz)
I took a boat ride through the harbor and didn't want to bring anything big to shoot with. Just wanted some casual, touristy type of shots.
I chose to bring the NEX-6 and the 16-50PZ lens that came with it. It's a very small easy to carry combo.
In my experience with this camera/lens combo I find you must make these settings adjustments to get the most out of it.

While shooting in A mode here's the problem I have with this combo. The distortion at the wide end is horrible. To remedy that problem I have to shoot in jpeg with the in camera distortion correction turned on. That brings on a second problem, blown highlights. I find that while shooting with this combo in jpeg that it's very beneficial to turn the exposure compensation down to about -0.7 most of the time if shooting in aperture mode. In manual set your aperture and dial in shutter speed while looking at the EVF or LCD until it looks right. Make sure you keep an eye on your shutter speed. 1/4000 is easy to reach in bright light shooting at -1 EV. You cannot save the blown highlights but you can pull out some detail from the shadows.

The cruise.
All shot aperture mode and center weighted metering.
