Sony NEX-5N in Norway
2 Attachment(s)
Hi folks!
:wave1: In this tread I will show som pictures taken with my Sony NEX-5N, which I bought because I needed something to play with. For more seriouse work (I do mostly landscapes) I use my Nikon D300s, but I usually have one or two "fool-around"-cameras on the side to play with as well. The reason I bought into the NEX-system is its ability to make use of old Legacy-glass which I like very much. More about this later, when my adapters are coming in through the mail. For today, just this one shot here from near where I live, in Fredrikstad in the South of Norway. Attachment 187593 Taken just some hours ago - some heavy clouds coming down the river, and it rained about halve an hour later. Enjoy! ----------------- Edited: Just another "make" of the above. Hi!
Another small series today, mostly to show the difference in angle between th 18-55mm Kit-lens and the 16mm f/2.8, pluss the attachments-lens Sony NEX Ultra Wide Converter VCL-ECU1. http://store.sony.ca/webapp/wcs/stor...Number=VCLECU1 Attachment 187602 A coastal scene, shot at 44mm with the standard kit-lens Attachment 187603 Same scene @ 18mm - standard kit-lens Attachment 187604 Same scene, but now with 16mm f/2.8 Attachment 187605 Same scene, with 16mm f/2.8 + the Ultra Wide Converter Attachment 187606 Still sthe same scene, but now with some tilt to the camera to show more of the foreground. In this slightly tilting-down posistion the UWC distorted the sides quite a bit, so that I had to change the perspective some. Best regards, Walter |
Another one today...

Thanks, rpmarques - so, may be you will enjoy the next one as well?
Attachment 187660 Which is a blend of the Black & White picture in post #4 - and the color one below. The blend is 60% B&W and 40% Color. With that blend I tried to create a mood that is more in line with these old wooden buildings in the Old Town of Fredrikstad. Attachment 187661 Original color one - but it is not very exciting, and I actually prefer the B&W and the above 60%blend. I'll try to keep'em coming...if anyone is interested, that is! |
Fantastic job Walter!!
The blend version is indeed de best one! |

A walk in the woods...

And the wood anemone or windflower (I think it's called in the US) is blooming in big colonies amongst the birchwood and oaktrees. The NEX 5N is such a joy to use when photographing flowers with its tiltable LCD-screen!
Attachment 187754 Low camerapositions are a joy with the NEX-5N. With Sony 16mm. Some (or in fact, most...) lens-reviews have this 16mm down to be a bit on "the soft side". I don't think this is visible unless you are a pixel-peeper... Attachment 187755 The evening sun is casting long shadows. 18-55mm kitlens Attachment 187756 Nice light for such a flower. 18-55mm kitlens Attachment 187757 Some "fallen giants" on the ground. Oak trees in different stages of decay. Taken with a "Legacy Glass"-lens. Old, manual Vivitar "Auto Wide Angle" 35mm f/2.8 (made by Tokina) on Big_Is M42-NEX adapter. Vivitar has 42-mount. Attachment 187758 Just a closer look. Taken with my old and manual Vivitar 35mm f/2.8 on NEX-adapter by Big_Is Bye folks! :wave1: |
