I think you're right. I apologize and thank you for catching my error.
But since the lens is only 7/8" long, and some portion of that goes inside the body, it's not likely to stick out very far, so the total thickness of the camera and lens probably wouldn't be much more than 2".

The perfect package for me is a Sony Alpha SLR and the tiny H70. Having taken both to the Colorado Rockies for a week, I found that both made for a perfect setup.
