With little skill and some exercise you can make really good 3D pictures (1920x1080) and 3D panoramas with NEX + movement.

Nice to look at a Zalman 3D monitor (1680x1050 or 1920x1080) with €1-pol-glasses

Thumbs up

Hello DonalDuc!

You are the master of flower-photograpy and macro-shots to achive this. And your new "toy" the NEX 5 seems to do the trick for this kind of shooting. Amazing pics with very good tonal values, I must say!

Your Samyang-picture are very interesting. Maybe I should try to buy Samyang-lenses for my G1...?

and

and your lilly-shots are exquisite!

All in all, I am not only impressed by the multitude of plants and flowers in your garden, but also for your patience in rigging up the tripod with special macro-head and with the tonal quality of the NEX 5. It seems to me that this camera has a very good dynamic range.

Anyway, I am impressed and want you to know that someone is appreciating your efforts in posting these magnificent, and for us photographers all very useful informative pictures.

Thank you DD!

I am using my Samyangs with Canon 550D (Canon mount) and GH1 (CanonEOS-m4/3 adapter) and NEX5 (CanonEOS-NEX adapter). 100% satisfied :-) !

For making 3D pictures you do not need a tripod. Use NEX (or ANY OTHER camera), make a picture, move camera (freehand) for eye distance to right, make second picture ... reeeeady!

(free) StereoPhotoMaker turns/rotates .. both picture for a 1a 3D photo, looking
with every 3D monitor/projector/TV, pol glasses or red/blue glasses and so on.

This 3D pictures are flowers in my garden, all taken FREEHAND with NEX5 + 18-55mm,
you can use ANY other camera, even HelloKittyCam.
Make a picture, move some cm (eye distance) to right and make a second picture.
Then load both pictures into StereoPhotoMaker and autoadjust them. Ready.
You can look them on 3D monitor/projector/TV with active or passive pol glasses, red/green glasses and so on.

StereoPhotoMaker german/english included ----> http://stereo.jpn.org/eng/

LL = left picture, adjusted
RR = right picture, adjusted
