Hi everybody, I meet the following problem in Sony DSC-W30. When I activate the flash(I wait sufficiently for the flash to charge), the camera sets the appropriate speed for flash shooting, the flash is on, but the picture is dark. This happenswithout any logic. Someimes the pictures are well exposed, sometimes not, although all have been taken in the conditions.

Does any bidy has faced with this ? Any suggestions ?

Is the flash firing when the dark pictures happen?

Yes, it fires, but not very strong. Sometimes the fire is sufficient and the frame is properly exposed.

W30 camera flash has a limit of about 12 ft.
Can it cause your problem? Did you check the distance?

The distance is in this range, it is about 1-1,5m. The distance is not an issue.

Sometimes the light output is suffucient and the exposure is correct. In this case I hear I knid of clicksound from the camera. Otherwise thissound is not heard.

When I switch to Slow synchro, the successful shots are more in quantity. I make shots not in dark ambience.

Hi Icento,

I want to know if the Sony R1 can be used as a studio camera, using an infra red flash trigger instead of the flash unit. I know it will fire the flash power block, but how to do to regulate the exposure?

Will the SONY DSC-W30 be good to shoot in studio? I mean to use an infrared flash trigger instead of the flash unit on the hotshoe? It will trigger the flash power block, I know, but how to do with the exposure?
