Hi, Julie:

I never thought about doing a B&W conversion ... but I really liked the way it turned out. Thank you very much for taking the time to do the work on both the pics. I appreciate it, a lot! Ria

P.S.: I also really liked the crop ... wasn't quite satisfied with mine. Yours is better, IMO. Thanks a bunch.

Your welcome Ria. I am very partial to black and white as I feel it has a stronger impact on the story it tells. I am an aged care nurse and work with dementia residents and have done for the last 23 years. I have taken many shots of images of the elderly. Amazing subjects. The lines, wrinkles, facial expressions just tell so much in black and white.
Glad to be of help, even though I am very new to photography I have a great passion for it.:-)

Hi, Jewel:

Your passion shows! I took the opportunity to look at some of your recent posts; your photography skills far outweigh your limited experience. I am looking forward to seeing more of your work. Ria

Hi, Julie -

Since we seem to share not only a love for photography, but the aged, too, I thought you might like this one.

(Take with my canon P&S instead of a Sony - sorry Forum!) Ria

Hi Ria

This pic is one of my better impact of emotion shots of a resident in the Dementia unit I work in. As you may see B&W is so powerful in its statement.
