Default Sony DSC V1 strange noises

Is it normal for the V1 to make a kind of quiet clicking/blipping sound when it is trying to auto fucus, I dont mean the beep it makes once it has focussed in standard mode, I mean in either autofocus mode or in video mode, if you hold the camera near to your ear you hear a kind of clicking/beeping sound, it isnt that loud but it did concern me a little, does yours do the same?

It is normal to hear the blipping noises. My V1 does the same.
I have noticed the same auto focus noise in my Sony DCR-TRV18E camcorder, where it is (unfortunately) noticeable in video playback.
Fortunately in a still camera the noise isnt a problem, however in my camcorder it is!

HI Guys.
My Sony P10 is also murmuring in modes that show anything but still pictures on the monitor.
I checked the P10 on display at a local retailer and did not notice any such noises.

DGR,

The noise is the camera autofocusing. Do you have your focusing set to continuous? The camera in the store may not have been.
