from SonyStyle the H9, extra battery, 4GB MSDuoPro, HD TV cable, 4 Yr Accident Warranty.

I love my R-1, but the H9 ( sight unseen ) will enable me to capture moments that I can't with my R-1. Before my R-1 I had the Fuji 9000, it broke, it was repaired, but I could never trust it again, so I traded it in for my R-1.

Why the H9 and not the others? The Olympus 550 was confirmed to be slow in reviews ( nothing new for otherwise top quality Olympus , a deal breaker for me ). I would not look at the Panasonic due to their image noise is much worse than any other camera maker, regardless of their top quality camera technology.

I saw the H5 at B&H yesterday and was impressed with the EVF and LCD.

With the H9's flip 3" screen I won't need to wear my reading glasses. A big deal for me.

No Raw but all images are shot in Raw as default and processed before they are handled by the Bionz engine. (see Sony's site for confirmation).

Fast AF is reported by DigitalCamera. Still owner of my F-828 and R-1, I know Sony won't disappoint me. ( If so, they have a good return policy).

Will be selling my two oldest digital cameras of the 3 I own, of course I would never ever git rid of my R-1 unless an R-2 comes along with equal glass.

I did look at the A100 but then looked at the glass as I previously did with my Canon gear. I don't want to get onto that treadmill again.

Should ship by may 4th or earlier.

Regards, Nicholas

That's great. I have an H5 and am anxiously waiting to hear more news about the H9.
When you get your new camera I would very much like to hear your hands-on opinion.

I'm really interested in the camera too. Best price I've found in the UK so far is £269 - which seems a snip at that price.

SonyStyle states:

"Expected to ship on or before May 11, 2007 "

Email indicates they already shippedthe MS and HD cable.

Camera, Battery, Warranty "Out of Stock"

Same here. I'm eyeing on H9 too. sony.ca won't let us pre-order at this moment. i hope i can get one before summer if it's as good as its spec.
