Hope you find this update interesting.

This is sucha treat! Mine is coming TODAY. It says it's on the truck for delivery!

I'm in Michigan so it didn't have too far to go. I'll have it for my trip after all. I'll even have an idea on how to use it by the time we leave.

This just made my day

I couldn't take pictures that would compare to anything that anyone does on these forums. All my pictures would be good for at this point would show what a beginner could do with it straight out of the box! I don't know if would dare post them as I wouldn't want anyone to discourage anyone from trying out this camera.

45 minutes left on the charge....

Maybe the rapid charger isn't a bad idea!

I did get a spare battery though.

For the fun of it here are links to two pictures (though I think you lose a little with the compression from photobucket) The first one is on my old Kodak Easyshare which I've had for 1.5 years. So I've had quite a little experience with it. The second one is using the H9 right out of the box, no face detection or image stabilization or any other fancy features used.I had to take the picture by the window so my kodak would actually give a little color in the picture. Keep in mind I'm in the learning stages of any kind of photography.

I think it's great considering I know nothing. I'm now off to read the owner's manual!

I'm editing to add that I think the flip screen is AWESOME! It was so much easier taking pictures of my kids (all 4 of them) at their level and I didn't have to get on my knees. The 3" screen is a must since I was holding the camera quite a distance from my face.

Nice H9 shot, wonderful kids.

I notice red eye in the Kodak but not the H9 image.

The H9 detail is just what i am looking for.

Also the flash was throttled down very nicely on yourbaby's forehead.

More, please.

Where I come from, and just about anyplace else, that is called a 'Steal'.

Congratulations on your H5!!!

A MAJOR reason why I was willing to buy the H9 sight unseen and without formal reviews was all of the EXCELLENT H5 images I found on the web. I figured the H9 has a great starting point for upgrade, the H5.
