Hello All,

We took a walk by Little Neck Bay today. A beautiful day.

Set my camera on a fence post, 10 sec timer, ( forgot all about the remote, I am a creature of habit ).

Captions describe the exposures.

Look how deep the shadows are on our faces on the No Flash image.

Look at the light on our faces with the built-in flash.

Never seen a better fill flash auto exposue on any camera.

This peformance is simply amazing, truly amazing, IMHO.

Your comments are very welcome.

Nicholas

Very nice to see good results with the flash.

Still considering if I can afford to buy the H9 to replace my H1.

Hi Nick,

yes that is amazing. I'm not sure that I would have even thought of using flash for that pic!

I presume you selected flash yourself to test the fill-in capabilities? Or does the H9 do it automatically according to the selected mode/lighting conditions?

Keep up the good work, looking forward to the next instalment,

Regards,

Steve

Hi Sintares and Steve,

Glad you found this fill flash test interesting.

Steve, When shooting at people ( our self portraitsincluded) I almost always use flash.

I like the catch light in the eyes.

Sometimes I use maual flashand others auto fill flash ( forced by me ).

Rarely do I shoot on Auto.

The H9's Face Detection mode limits my choices but I am very gladto have it.

Thanks for your input on my Real Life User's report.

Did you use the lens hood while taking this picture?

Yes I did. If you are far enough away the hood shadow doesn't show.
