Nice! IMO, the H2 is the best of the bunch.

Tullio-

I agree! Even though the H-2 is an older camera, the H-2, at 6mp, is still a very creditable camera.

Default Taken with the trusty F717

These were taken with the never duplicated F717. It still is the best digital camera ever made.....biased I know.

Very nice indeed. The F717, F828 and R1 are probably some of the best digicams ever made. They were innovative and feature rich, way ahead of their times. That was forward thinking.

Too bad Sony has made nothing even close to these in years. Not everyone wants a DSLR?

Default In the Good Old Day of Sony: the H-5 camera

Perhaps the introduction of the new WX-1 next month (September) will signal the fact that Sony is coming out of their tailspin.

Since we are talking about older Sony cameras, here is a nice H-5 shot for you.

Have a great day.

Saying that Sony has made nothing during all these year is not particularly fair. They have done a lot but not in terms of upgrading these models. The thing is, they can make a lot more money selling DSLRs because along with the body they sell the lenses (and they are not cheap). I'm not sure many people would be willing to pay $900 for a P&S such as the R1 (but with some upgrades, of course) when you can get the A230 with two lenses for a lot less than that. I think those models made sense when one could not buy a DSLR for less than $1500.

Not for a moment I believe that the WX1 or HX1 comes close to the R1, f828 and f717. They were a different breed of cameras. Even though I love my R1, it's bulky and very heavy and it's been sitting inside its camera bag for quite some time now. I tend to favor the FZ28, which is much smaller and lighter, it offers 18x zoom and great IQ,.

Default Sony H-20 Photo Sample

KevMac-

Thanks for posting. Those are amazing storm photos. We have missed you not being here. As for myself, I just got a Sony H-20 camera and I am impressed with its features and automation. It is a lot of camera for $(US) 240.00.

Here is one of the first photos taken with the H-20. I handed the camera to my husband and said, "Please take a photo of me, the camera is set to full automatic."

Have a great day.
