Tullio-

I was totally surprised when it just showed up. It is a silver model but I can put up with that. Thus far, because I have not had any real time due to the fact that we are leaving early Sunday morningfor 2.5 months, I have been focused on getting all the equipment packed up, and the last minute details completed. Packing for ourselves will be done tomorrow.

So I have just used I-A or intelligent automatic. The documentation on the FZ-18 is really quite substantial, and I will wait until we get on board and I can go through the manual with the camera in hand. Thus far, I am quite pleased with the FZ-18's performance. Have a great day.

Sarah Joyce

Hi Sarah,

Thanks for taking the time and shoot the 18x zoom image. You got that right...it is very impressive indeed. The focus is sharp and dead on. Color saturation is very good as is theWB. I'm pre-ordering mine today!

Really? OK, heading to Costco tomorrow first thing in the morning. Amazon won't have it until the 10th of October.

Thanks for the shot from your PannySarah, some nice images being posted on dpreview as well, still if I were Tullio I would wait for the pro reviews on this newcamera to be sure. There are somereports of noise at ISO 100.

Great capture, Wirraway.

Well, I checked Costco online and they don't have it. I try the store tomorrow morning. The good thing about them is that they have an awesome return policy. If I buy the camera tomorrow, I can check it out and if I don't like it, then I simply take it back. No re-stocking fees, nothing. The thing is, I also found it on the web (very reputable store)for $332 and a $10 discount coupon on top of it. So, final price...$322 + CA tax. That's almost $50 less than Costco. It's a huge price to pay for convenience.

Would you please send the URL on dpreview where you saw the images for the FZ18 ? I looked, but couldn't find the photos.

Thanks.
