Congratulations, wirraway-

I am sure you will enjoy the W-300. The photo samples that seen on the internat are impressive.

Did a very quick and rough test with the DSC-W300 to see how it performs with high ISO, as this camera has far more adjustments than the W100, e.g. one push white balance and adjustment ofthe noise reduction and more, it is early days yet to find its true potential. The 3 shots here are handheld and no flash.

Camera: Sony DSC-W300,

ISO: 400, Aperture: f/3.2, Shutter: 1/30 sec, Exp bios: -0.30, W/bal: Auto

Good shots, Cyber. Sony did well with the 707, 828 and R1 cameras. Then, it seems like it was adownhill from there. Even though some of the H models are pretty decent, they are far from producing the IQ that these three models do.

As a suggestion, I'd try to straighten the horizon a bit on the second shot. It's a bit too crooked.
I still think the F828 takes better photos even without IS or the zoom my H5 has.

Awesome shots, Wirraway. It looks like the W300 is indeed a very good pocket camera.

style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #000000"Cyber, there is no doubt that the 707, 181 and R1 are superior cameras to any of theH series. They don't have IS or long FL but the sensors and the lenses are some of the best Sony has ever produced. I will not trade my R1 not even for a DSLR.
