Hello All,

This shoot involved my H9 and my Canon 250D 58mm Close-up Lens ( which I have owned for years ).

I purchased a 74-58mm step-down ring for only $10 at Pemaraal.com It was delivered in 2 business days and fits my H9 adapter perfectly.

This set up suprised me as it enabld me to shoot at the long end of my H9 lens with some distance between me and my subject. My lens did not block the available light by being too close. H9 set to Macro.

This gallery is straight out of the camera except Auto Levels and resizing to 1800 pixels wide for web posting as High JPEG's.

It was a bit breezy but I was able to lock focus, and then waited until my subject was still, many times I had to move my camera a bit closer or away from my subject with the camera locked on original focus, and once I saw the subject come back into focusI pressed my shutter button. Steady Shot worked perfectly.

This gallery contains a wide view of each subject and then closer and closer shots of the same subject to the limit I could capture a macro, about 3 or 4 shots to a subject, all Handheld.

The H9 with the Canon 250D Close-up Lens performed flawlessly for me regarding capture and image quality.

Here is my Macro Gallery:

Looking forward to your comments.

How lucky that the lens would adapt. Shots sure came out really clear and sharp!

Aren't you able to get as close with the regular lens?

Not when I tried. The lens would block the light on the subject.

The 250D is a good piece of glass.

Hi Nick, I have been following a lot of your posts as you seem the Guru on the H-9

A friend of mine has one and is struggling with macro shots. She is getting "invalid" messages when trying to setup for a macro shot.

Do you have a suggestion for such shots?

I have the A-100 and it operates queit differently.

Thanks.

Hi,

Glad Steves is back.

The invald messages occur when other camera settings not normaly used when shooting macros are active.

Try A,S,Manual.

Not on Tele lens. Other exposure modes are not meant for macro shooting.

I tried A, P, S, M settings, press the left side of the rotating wheel for the macro? and in every case get the "invalid" message.

One more issue now. The remote. Is this a defective remote?

Nothing happens when I push the shutter (or any other) button. Put a fresh battery in, just in case the new Sony battery was dead, and still nothing.

Is there something that activated the remote feature, something that turns it on and off? The manual is pretty much useless.

Hi,

Please state your difficulty once more with all the details.

I will replicate it on my H9.

Not all settings.

Nicholas
