I found this little guy today in my yard. Ues 1/200 sec and guess

thats too slow to stop the wings. H2 1/200th SP........ Jim

1/200 still looks like 1/10 second.

I wonder how fast you would need to freeze the wing movement.

Yes, Nicolas, 1/200th is still way too slow. Next chance I

get, will try 1/500th. That should do it. They are shy little creatures

so can' get very close. I used a little digital zoom on that one.... Jim

Ok, Simon, thanx for the comments. A little wing

blur does seem togive it some life. I posted another

one sometime ago where the hummingbird was perched

and it wasn't as good, I think, as this one. . Jim

Hi Jim,

Looking forward to your 1/500 shot ( or faster ).

I would really like to see what this little guy's wing looks like.

Almost every image of these birds has some blur indicating movement.

To see their wing feathers would be something rarely seen.
