That is where you are very lucky Cyberf828, the U.S. is the only country where you can try a camera and if you don't like it return it, everywhere else you have to ebay it and take a loss.

That must be tough, Do they just not take them back or is there a restocking fee?

No restocking fee at all, when you buy a camera here, UK, Western Europe and I think Canada thats it, the sale is final, you don't like it sell it yourself wherever, that is why anyone in the above countries should wait for reviews from reviewers and owners alike on forums like this before jumping in and buying on impulse, I know I do.

Yikes!!!!!!! I always wondered what all the fuss was about for the reviews, Whoops, I would wait too if that was the way it was here. Where I am they have a Sony outlet store with everything there for you to use. I got to walk around outside testing the H9 and the two lenses they had in stock then load them to a computer to view.

Slow lens, low resolution 115k lcd and starting at 38mm....?

Someone over at dpreview raised a goodquestion, assuming the sensor is the same as that in the H7 and H9, it will be interesting to see the file sizes and see what the compression and noise reduction does to the pictures

If the files are larger and less compressed, and the noise not as dire, perhaps that might suggest a future firmware revision would be possible for the H7/9.

Sintares-

It good to see you again!

I would think that at the least, a firmware update should be done for the H-7/H-9 cameras. Let's hope that Sony does just that.

Cheers ! :G

Been lurking here as usual and over at dpreview.

Funny thing is I did like the H9, but not enough to keep it with the flaws, even if some members of this forum refuse to see them.

But if a firmware upgrade came out I would have to reconsider a purchase again and if Sony slashed the price that would be good as well.

I volunteered to work with the H-9 and to provide a happy home for the H-9 usershere in the Sony folder. So I was able to pick up one on e-bay for $(US)340 plus shipping. So yes, I would much appreciate a firmware update.
