Default Important tip for P8, P10, P72 and P92 E-mail record mode

For all P8, P10, P72 and P92 users (I'm a P8 user) here is my a tip if you want to shoot pictures for e-mail sending:

1. Set your camera's rec mode to E-Mail.
2. Transfer the picture file to your harddisk, it has the .jpe extension.
3. Don't e-mail this picture file as is, the receiver will most likely unable to open it because of the .jpe extension!
4. Rename the picture file and change the extension from .jpe to jpg. Ignore the Windows pop-up warning.
5. Send the picture via e-mail, it is guarranteed that the recipient can view the pic file now.

Uau, man what a usefull information!! u are a genius
But with each image viewer(fe acdsee) u can open JPE file too.
But this features like email size or image effects in camera are useless.U can do all in your PC better.

I just joined this group and was looking through the older messages. Anyway, here's another option for others to view the .jpe files (using win2000, but should be similar for other win systems)....

Go to "My Computer"
Click on "Tools" on top menu
"Folder Options"
"File Types" tab
scroll down to "jpg or jpeg - JPEG IMAGE"
In the Details Box, you will see what software opens up the image
Click on "New"
Type in "jpe" in the "File Extension" box
then change the program it opens with - "Change" in the Details box
