The only thing I don't like about that shot is the guys head at the bottomof the photo... otherwise, a perfect shot. That is a BIG ship.

Here is my version that I shot a couple weeks ago:

Here it shows the power of the Sony H50 wide to to long zoom. Gotta love that zoom! We were walking a couple miles that day, so no way I'd want to pack along the DSLR and lenses to get the same shots! I'd have a sore back & neck and not have much fun either. Score another plus for the super-zooms!

And the Long Zoom from the same spot!

Well Jack-

I paid that guy a quarter to take his camera and get out of the photo. Check it now please. Your photo is of the Norwegian Star, belonging to Norwegian Cruise Lines.

We taught on that ship once this year and will be again teaching on the Norwegian Star two times in 2009.

Hi Jack-

No, I am sorry to say that both contracts will begin in LAX and end in LAX! Those contracts will be a lot of fun, as I will be teaching my favorite subject: digital cameras. Those are excellent photos of the Norwegian Star, one of our favorite cruise ships.

Jack-

For both contracts on the Norwegian Star we will be boarding in LAX and doing the Mexican Riviera in 2009. But I do have a confession to make to you. You won't tell wiil you?

I miss my Sony H-50! Yes, it has a few problems, but it is still a pretty darned good digicam. But it does not that really necessary hotshoe. Nice photos of the Norwegian Star, Jack! My gosh, you are getting better and better! But still those are great H-50 photos! I am envious! My gosh I am having H-50 withdrawal symptoms.

Oh well.

Sarah Joyce.

For those of you that want a good bounceflash to go with your Sony H50 try this one... I use it with the DSLR too.

Bower Digital Twin Flash for SONY Cyber-shot DSC-H9

Sarah, you said you missed the H50 and the main drawback was no flash shoe? I gave that up with my Canon s5is because the flash I listed above works perfectly with the H50. The H50 is extremely powerful and can be adjusted easily, so I haven't hardly used the otther flash.

Just a thought. Need any help on that ship? LOL
