Hi Jack,

I'm ready to upgrade from a Panasonic FZ-3 and have been torn between the Canon SX10 IS, Nikon P-80 and the Sony H-50. After checking them out at Best Buy and reading your posts I am almost sold on the Sony. Thanks for all of the useful information.

Darrell

dk55-

I own the P-80, the H-50, the SP-560, and the FZ-28. I use the FZ-28 the most and get the best results from the FZ-28. The H-50 is a very capable camera but the photos are not as sharp (especially in low light situations) than the FZ-28.

While not the absolute best, the H-50 does produce very good IQ when used in the "High ISO" Mode. Here is a good photo sample. This was taken using just the existing light, without using the flash.

Anymore new H50 owners or photos?
Hello Jack55,

I am a semi new owner of a H50, and I absolutely love it. Beautiful pictures and great zoom. I love taking pictures of the birds here in Central Arkansas and this camera does a excellent job. I work @ BestBuy so I got a chance to spend some time comparing the current cameras we have displayed and everytime I walked past the H50 it was like "Pssst, hey, you know you want me. I will not let you down." And that camera has been with me everytime I head out of the house. I am not a salesperson I work in inventory. I would recommend this camera to anybody interested in beautiful pictures. The smile detector worked great for family pics this holiday season.

I am new here so hello everyone.
