I happen to agree with Tullio, 100%-

The Panny FZ-18 is a better camera, and the FZ-28 with the new Venus 4 processor looks to be even better.

Ok, I recant my original fears...early frustrations with new camera...and losing where things were put...so different from my Alpha 100 and my H1...

Yes, in part, the settings were too 'vivid', contrast, etc.
Still playing with all the settings...

edited to add that this pic is a trimmed part of full rose...called double delight

Very nice! Great cropping job. Saturation also looks good...not too pink'ish, not too pale.

I think the photo looks really good, I would see if sharpening it a little would help.

Humm, personally I have a problem with that. The question is, how many H50 cameras were you willing to try before giving upin case the third one was also not good? I understand thatthere is always a chance that a particular product comes out of the manufacturer with problems (ithappenswith cars all the time). However, when thebad to good ratio is too high, there is a more serious issue (IMO), which needs to be resolved. Either Sony's QA is poor or they are well aware that the H50 has quality inconsistenciesbuthave made the decision to shipitanyway and then deal with the returns later. So, at this point,it seems to me that itis pure gambling and Ichose not to play the roulette.

I too have a problem with that, and i simply dont believe in it, does any of you people work at sonys factories? in case not, then no valid reason to speculate in this. I think IQ is determined by the different situations conditions and users. Unless you do a complete and identical lab-test with several examples.
