Default Moon Shots with Sony F717

I am a new owner of a Sony F717 and am looking for advice
on how to take Moon Shots??Shutter Speed and any other pointers
that might help me along. Thanks in advance!John

Your best bet is to use the spot meter and center it right on the moon. You may still want to underexpose a bit so the detail in the moon is not blown out.

The full telephoto doesn't bring the moon very close, though. It would be nice to have a teleconverter lens, but I don't.

Here's one moon picture I took. This was at full zoom.
