HI, i've just bought a DSC-h50 (upgraded from my old dsc-v1) and i would like to buy a UV filter to protect the camera lens but i'm not sure which size i should buy, if i buy a 74mm, when the camera opens, the zoom part would hit that 74 mm filter, no? or am i mistaken? or i should need to buy like a tube to allow the zoom to move?.. so what i imagine is that what i need is to buy a 38mm (or which size?) filter that would go directly on top of the main lens, is that right?.. the protective cap would still fit the camera?

sorry if i sound naive or something but i haven't found any info, in ebay, sellers offer 74mm filters and make me hesitate on what i need, if somebody is an owner of this camera and could guide me with pics on which lens should i use and how, that would be amazing.

Thank you very much, have a great weekend

Mario-

The Sony H-50 comes with an adapter that offers both a mount for the included sunshad and a way to safely mount filters.

Hello Sarah, or someone else, would you know if the 74mm filters (CPL, UV) can be used with the Sony wide angle and telephoto lenses by screwing them in between the camera and the lens? I want to buy the h50 with both lenses and I saw in the pictures that neither one has a thread on the outside for filters. Thank you.

Yes, you are correct. That adaptor is also used to mount the accessory lenses.
